Editor Picks: Here’s to Shoes

by Totspot Team

Clothes may make the man, but it’s really shoes that make the outfit. Comfortable shoes make our little ones’ school days go by smoothly, but it’s not wrong to ask them to be equally cute, am I right?

Just like your own outfits, basics always pair nicely with a little piece of pizzaz – and that’s exactly what these  nine shoes bring to the tot-sized table. Our editors simply loved these boots, moccs, and sandals this week, and we’re betting you will too. Take a look below!

November Lookbook

by Totspot Team

What’s November made of? It’s made of sugar cookies and pumpkin spice, and everything nice – that’s what November is made of!

But it also is made of crunchy, brown leaves, wet grounds, and shallow puddles our little ones can’t help but jump into. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it, fall is here!

So what does it take for a little guy or gal to take on the world as our days become gloomier and cooler? We’ve highlighted a few essentials ahead that will leave your little one outerwear-ready and very fashionable. Read on.

boots

Fall means hello boots, bye bye sandals. We love these camel-colored combat boots  because they will give your daughter instant cool girl status – even if she’s only 2 years old. $5, user lanianncoatDeck your dapper little dude out in this fancy little coat from Baker by Ted Baker. Royal Baby: What Would A Princess Wear?

by Totspot Team

We might be jumping the gun just a little bit, but all the news about a second royal baby (that’s right, Prince George is going to be a big brother!) has got us just a little bit excited about the possibility of a little princess.

While everyone is already clamoring for baby names, we’re more excited about coming up with a royal wardrobe for the bundle of joy to be. How fun would it be to pick out clothes for a princess? What dresses and dress coats would she do? What shoes would she wear on her little feet?

…Really, what exactly would a princess wear? We have six ideas that we think are absolutely worthy of royalty.

what_would_a_princess_wear_royal_baby_news1. A Coat Fit For a Princess. This Janie & Jack wool blend coat comes with a regal faux fur collar and is fit for a little queen. It’s new with tags and is just the thing the royal baby will wear over party dresses (we’re guessing she’ll be going to many balls!). ($35)

2. A Velvet Party Dress. Speaking of party dresses, we imagine baby will develop a serious collection of them by the age one, but just like any little lady, a little black dress is absolutely necessary. This one from CrewCuts is stunning and is 77 percent off retail price! ($35)

3. A Traditional Baby Outfit in Blue. We know little girls usually get the pink treatment, but a blue outfit in a soft pastel would allow mama to make her royal babies match. How cute would that be? This one is by a French brand called Bout’ Chou. ($15)

4. Burberry Shoes. As an ode to all that is good and British, royal baby will need some Burberry.  We think these Burberry ballet flats could be worn with everything. ($35)

5. A Ruffled Romper. For warm weather, the princess will need a bathing suit and we think she’d look absolutely darling in a classic red ruffled one piece. How adorable is this one? ($8)

6. A Princess-Perfect Puffer Coat. It definitely gets chilly when winter rolls around and perhaps our little darling needs something a little warmer and a little more utilitarian than a dress coat. If that’s the case, this Calvin Klein coat, with it’s little ruffles and hood, is the perfect mix of puffer coat and princess chic. ($9)

Savvy Sassy Moms: 8 Must-Have Fall Fashion Trends for Kids

by Totspot Team

This guest post is brought to you by Totspot and Andrea Fellman of Savvy Sassy Moms, a friend of ours and a brand ambassador of Totspot.

Girls Fall Back to School Fashion Trends

Fall fashion is not just for adults anymore, as kids clothing is getting more forward fashion each and every year.  Long gone are the primary colors with ABCs and animals all over your kids clothing. Now children’s clothing is a bit more sophisticated and trends for kids seem to mirror what all the stylish moms are wearing. This fall we are seeing a lot of trends for both boys and girls that will have them looking too cool for school.

1. Sweatshirts and sweatpants

Sweatpants and sweatshirts have made a fashionable comeback. These sweats have style to them and are totally acceptable as an outfit and not just for playing around in the sandbox. The cuts are trendy, include pockets, fitted at the ankles and colors that are right on trend for fall.

2. School Spirit This is a classic fall trend when kids head back to school keeping them looking both smart and stylish. Showing your school spirit this year is easy with clothing inspired by team sports, varsity sweaters and the preppy look of khaki’s. There are even a few educational and inspiring t-shirts that might keep your little scholar motivated this year.

3. Moto + Military Trend

Nothing is cuter than a little tough guy with chubby cheeks and missing teeth or a tough girl with pigtails. Moto, military jackets and biker boots are the perfect way to style skinny jeans and faded denim for the boys or a floral skirt for the girls. Mohawk not required to rock this trend.

Boys Fall Fashion Trends

4. Cozy Knits

This fall is all about being cozy in knits. Oversized knits over a fun pair of printed leggings for the girls, or rugby sweaters are perfect for the boys. Cardigans are also a classic for girls and a must-have when heading out for recess on chilly days.

5. Perfectly Fitted Plaid

Kids are mad for plaid. Plaid shirts and skirts a fun way to mix in a print this fall and keep the kids warm for those visits to the apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Plaid also has an all American and western warmth to it, which makes it a classic. If your child wears a uniform, then plaid may already be apart of their fall wardrobe.

6. Hot for HighTops
Boys and girls are both hot for this shoe trend. High tops have never been more stylish and blinged out. You’ll find high tops in just about every color, with sparkles, stripes, colorful laces and even more wild designs. Let their personality shine with their shoes!

7. Faded Glory

Denim is faded and a bit more rugged this fall, but denim is not the only thing looking distressed. A lot of the color palette we are seeing are lighter shades of grey, blue, pinks, yellows and oranges. The sweatpants and sweatpants are also taking on this trend.

8.  Floral Garden

Every girl will need something in her closet that has a floral print, but this is not your grandma’s table cloth. Mixing floral prints with stripes, denim and the moto trend will keep it looking young and fresh.
